Life Coach Lab was founded in 2001 by Giovanna D'Alessio when coaching was almost unknown in Italy.
After a fifteen-year career in major international companies, Giovanna had glimpsed in coaching a philosophy of life, as well as a tool, to inspire in people the desire to be on a path of constant growth that leads to greater understanding of themselves and the generation of resources to reach better results in their personal and professional life.
Life Coach Lab was presented to the public at a press conference in January 2002 in Milan, addressed by the then President of the ICF, Bobette Reeder. This event, the first in Italy to put the focus on the new profession of the coach, was followed with great interest by the media. Television, newspapers radio and magazines began to talk about coaching, helping to spread understanding of the profession to a growing public.
At the outset, the coaching work of Life Coach Lab was aimed above all at individuals who chose to invest in themselves to achieve important results or to face up to change successfully. Italian companies had not yet grasped the effectiveness of coaching: it was too early to take coaching into the corporate world.
Since 2003, Life Coach Lab has dedicated itself to the corporate world, focusing on the more senior level of company managers and starting to offer diagnostic tools and initiatives for the development of leadership. Collaboration began that year with Management Research Group for the use of Leadership Effectiveness Assessment© and Personal Direction© diagnostic tools.
In 2004 Life Coach Lab inaugurated a coach training programme, Coaching Essentials, for people who want to take on this profession seriously. The programme introduced the Double Star Coaching Conversation Model, created on the basis of Giovanna D'Alessio's experience with hundreds of coachees. The Double Star Coaching Conversation Model is the first model in Italy that combines the situational aspect of traditional conversation models, from John Withmore to CTI and Coach U, with a transformational aspect.
This passion for deep and transformational intervention on consciousness is what led Life Coach Lab to develop, in later years, an approach and tools that enable the coachee to create significant and lasting results, experiences that have been defined by some participants in workshops as "life changing".
Activities to support the corporate have been thus evolved since 2005 towards a transformational approach and began to include cultural diagnoses, initiatives for cultural transformation and support for organisational transformation.
In the meantime, due to the type of interventions it organises and manages and thanks to its internal culture, Life Coach Lab has begun to attract a group of Associate Coaches of great ability and integrity. The Team has also been strengthened in Europe, where Life Coach Lab has begun to serve local branches of clients with the same professionalism and type of approach: Portugal, Turkey, Poland, the Netherlands, Spain, Hungary, Germany, UK, France and the Czech Republic. Life Coach Lab is beginning to propose and manage a cultural transformation initiative at a European level for one of the top ten corporations in the Fortune list.
In 2007, the Life Coach Lab team has been rethinking strategically its mission, its values and activities. This shared effort has led to the creation of three divisions, Corporate, The Campus and Evolution, in addition to the mission and values you will find on the other pages of the site.
